What is a Discord font generator?

Discord does not include a feature to change your font, so a Discord font generator uses Unicode characters instead. You type your text, the tool swaps each letter for a styled lookalike, and you copy and paste it into a message, nickname or server profile. Discord keeps the look because the styling is part of the characters.

You get the full set of styles, from bold and cursive to gothic, glitch and small caps, so your name and messages match your vibe.

Where to use fonts on Discord

Note: text inside backticks shows as plain monospace code, so paste styled text as a normal message. If a style shows boxes, pick a simpler one. Here is why that happens. Here is why that happens.

Discord fonts FAQ

How do I change my font in Discord?
Type your text above, tap Copy next to a style, then paste it into Discord. For a styled server nickname, open the server menu, choose Edit Server Profile or Change Nickname, and paste it there. For messages, just paste before sending.
Do fancy fonts work in Discord messages and nicknames?
Yes. Discord supports Unicode, so styled text displays in messages, nicknames and server profiles. Bold, italic, cursive and small caps are the most reliable styles.
Why does my styled text not work inside code blocks?
Text wrapped in backticks is shown in Discord's monospace code formatting, which displays plain characters. Paste your styled text as a normal message, not inside backticks, to keep the look.
Can I use these fonts for my Discord username?
Server nicknames and display names accept styled Unicode text. The core account username has stricter rules, so simpler styles are safest there.
Is the Discord font generator free?
Yes, it is completely free with no sign-up and no limits. Everything runs in your browser and nothing you type is stored. See our Privacy Policy.
