What is an Instagram font generator?

Instagram does not have a built-in feature to change your font, so an Instagram font generator does it with Unicode characters instead. You type your text, the tool swaps each letter for a styled lookalike, and you copy and paste the result into your bio, caption or name. Because the styling lives in the characters, Instagram keeps the look.

You get the full set of styles here, from cursive and bold to bubble, gothic and more, so you can match your feed's aesthetic.

Where to use fonts on Instagram

Note: the @username handle only allows plain letters, numbers, dots and underscores, so fonts work in your bio and name, not the handle. If a style shows boxes for some viewers, pick a simpler one. Here is why that happens. Here is why that happens.

Instagram fonts FAQ

How do I add a font to my Instagram bio?
Type your text above, tap Copy next to a style you like, then open Instagram, go to Edit Profile, and paste the text into your bio or name field. Save and the styled font appears on your profile.
Will these fonts work in Instagram captions and comments?
Yes. The same copied text works in captions, comments and story text. Just paste it where you are typing. Most styles display the same way across the app.
Why do some Instagram fonts show as boxes?
Instagram does not have an official font feature, so it relies on Unicode characters. If a viewer's device does not include a particular character, it may show a box. Simpler styles like bold, italic and small caps display most reliably.
Is it safe and free to use these fonts on Instagram?
Yes. You are only pasting standard text characters, so there is nothing to install and no risk to your account. The generator is completely free with no sign-up.
Can I use this for my Instagram username?
You can style the display name field in your profile. The @username handle, however, only allows plain letters, numbers, periods and underscores, so fancy fonts cannot be used there.
